Event Alert: The Music Boat 2011

If you are looking for a vacation with good music, then this is the opportunity for you. Premiere Christian Cruises with World Hope sponsors an annual event called, The Music Boat, a cruise featuring some of the best Christian/Gospel artists and speakers. In past years, the cruise featured acts such as Third Day and the David Crowder Band. This year, the cruise is hosted by the Newsboys and features artists such as Brandon Heath, Chris Tomlin (a recent addition), Israel Houghton and New Breed, MercyMe, Sanctus Real, and KJ-52.

The Music Boat will also have events for the children (complete with Bob and Larry from "Veggie Tales"), teens, and singles. If you like to buy books and/or albums from the artists/speakers, there will be a bookstore on board as well.

The events will take place on the Carnival Imagination, a ship that includes 9-hole mini golf, a water park on deck, a resort-style pool, and other highlights. The ship will leave Miami on November 7, and travel to Key West and Cozumel, Mexico before returning on November 11. Throughout the trip, you will enjoy concerts every day, culminating to a huge finale concert on the last night.

If you think this is a good vacation, go to The Music Boat's website for more information and to book your cabin. But do it fast...as of this writing, it's already 50% full!

UPDATE (May 1, 2011): The cruise is now 60% full!

Concert/Contest Alert: Winter Wonder Slam Continues!

Happy New Year!

You might remember that I reported on TobyMac's Winter Wonder Slam in November, in which he toured with Skillet. Now, just in time for the new year, he's doing it again, this time with Brandon Heath and House of Heroes. The tour will begin on January 14 in Tulsa, OK and end on February 26 in Fairfax, VA. Check out this link for more tour dates.

If that isn't enough, there's also a contest by LMG Concerts, a Christian concert firm, on Facebook. Here's what you can win:
  • 2 VIP tickets to a West Coast show of your choice
  • Hotel accommodations/round-trip airfare
  • Backstage passes to meet TobyMac and the Diverse City Band
  • Ground transportation (from airport to hotel to show and back)
  • A custom-made Flip Cam
For more information on how to enter, go to LMG Concerts' Facebook page. The contest ends on January 17.
