This is one of my new favorite artists at the moment. She her most recent album, My Paper Heart was released two years ago and the deluxe edition of the album (called the Dented Fender Sessions) was released earlier this month on iTunes. She was nominated for a Grammy last year for Best Gospel performance for her first single, "Free To Be Me"
Interesting facts:
- At age 15, she was a member of a pop group named Bella (Don't know them? Neither do I.)
- She wanted to be a performer ever since the age of 6 when she saw "The Secret Garden."
- After her tenure with Bella ended, she was inspired to become a Christian artist after doing youth ministry.
- Her first album, Just a Breath was released independently.
- Her single, "It's Your Life" was used on the series finale of "Jon & Kate Plus 8"
- Her inspiration includes jazz classics, John Mayer, Sarah Bareilles, and Nicole Nordeman.
